[an error occurred while processing this directive] the Trev Report for 1999-06-01 [an error occurred while processing this directive]

The Trev Report

Well, I have been meaning to write this one for a while. Since the last Trev
Report (in September!) many of you have asked where I have gone, well here is
the lastest and greatest from the world o' Trev. Now, on with the news.

Trev's Lovelife

Ahh, Signe (my girlfriend, for the uninformed: wsu.edu/~menagh/signe)
is off to Europe today for two months with her family. She is returning on the
7th of August, so that will give me about 3 weeks to see her before I am off to
Osaka (WHAT JAPAN!!!, I will explain later in the letter). In any case I am
going to miss Signe a lot and it will be a long year and a half that we will be
apart. She is going to Germany to study after I return from Japan. Well, we are
all hoping that this will last, both of us will try our best fighting againist
the odds!

Trev's Anime

Hmm, I have been watching Legend of the Galatic Heroes (LoGH) lately, it's a
pretty cool series, but all I have is it unsubtitled so during some lengthy
dialog it gets a little tought to understand. I also got all 26 of the Maze TV
series, which is another good show. It is a very fun show, I believe that that
is the best description. Besides that I haven't bought any anime. I am really
trying to save for my trip, since it is rather expensive over there.

Trev's Work

Ahh, here's another shocker, and I'm sorry I haven't gotten the word out sooner
for all my Seattle-area relatives. I am working in Kirkland, WA at a place
called Seattle Lab Software (named after the Seattle Lab, a dog not a
Laboratory) working on an e-mail server for NT. It is really interesting work
and I am learning so many new things it is mind-boggling. Currently I am sifting
my way through ATL COM coding and trying to learn exactally how to be IPv6
compatible. Well, it's a lot of stuff to study, but I am getting the hang of it.

Trev's School

OK, here is the part you've all been waiting for. I am going to Japan from
August 21st to May 23rd. I will be studying Japanese at Kansai Gaidai University
in a Foreign Exchange program with WSU (where I go to school). So I will be over
there for 9 months, living with a Japanese family and taking classes in
Japanese. Kansai Gaidai is around Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, so I am very excited
about going (and a little scared too). Oh yeah, my grades for last semester
averaged out to a 3.14, leaving my GPA still at 3.10 which I am greatful for!

Trev's Housing

I am living with one of my friend's (Scott Francis) family in Redmond for the
summer, they were nice enough to let me stay at their house, which is only 5
miles away from my work. I'd like to get together with some of the family that
is in Seattle (Grandma, Uncle Floyd, Steve & Judy, etc.) in the upcoming weeks
to visit. Scott is leaving at the end of the week for an internship at Intel in
Portland (way to go Scott!) so it will be just Scott's family and I during the
weeks ahead. Things are going well though and They are very nice to me there.

Trev's Visit to Cali

Attention all friends and family in California! I will be visiting the LA area
from July 10th to July 18th, so I would really like to see everybody while I am
down there. From the 16th to the 18th, though I will be hanging out with Brian
and Joe at Anime Expo 1999 in Anaheim. It is the biggest anime convention in the
USA so I am really excited about going and taking lots of pictures for
everybody. I am also trying to make a Yang Wenli (from LoGH) costume for the
convention, but I haven't quite started on it yet...

Trev's Music

Yes, yes I listen to music, usually whatever I happen to have nearby.

Trev's Movies

Saw Star Wars...3 times. It was good. Saw the Mummy, it was fun. Saw the 13th
Floor, it was...predicable, if they changed the last minute of the movie it
could have been SO much better... And I am planning to see Wilw Wild West when
it comes out, that looks great.

Trev's Games

Well I, like Brian, am waiting for Lunar: The Silver Star Story to arrive in the
game store. It is a Playstation (PSX) game I have been waiting for for, like
forever. I was playing some Trap Gunner (for PSX) yesterday too, that is a real
cool game. And I found Defender of the Crown for the PC, it's a REAL OLD game I
used to play on my 8088 wat back when.

Well, that's all for now. I supose I better get back to work banging out this
ATL madness. In any case I hope to hear from you all soon. See ya later.
