[an error occurred while processing this directive] the Trev Report for 2002-01-23 [an error occurred while processing this directive]
Hi all. Welcome once again to your monthly Trev Report. It's my own
little version of an Everything/Nothing email. Now, on with the report!

Trev's Lovelife

Signe and I are doing well. She just got promoted at work to Booth
Manager, so she is now in change of running all the projectors and
other things up in the booth at the Camera Cinemas
(http://www.cameracinemas.com/).
It is still tough since she works nights and I work days, but we are
doing pretty good with it. ^_^

Trev's Work

Work is going well. Version 5.1 of Action Names DateBook
(http://www.iambic.com/english/palmos/actionnames/default.html) is
about to come out and I added a ton of new features including smart
phone support and one hand controlling.
I am also still working on iambic Mail
(http://www.iambic.com/english/palmos/mail/default.html). I got IMAP
(http://www.imap.org/) working this month so it operates similar to
POP3 (cis.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/rfc/rfc1939.html) and I
plan to add server-side folder manipulation soon. Currently I am
working on improving iambic Mail's SMS
(http://www.pcwebopedia.com/TERM/S/short_message_service.html) to make
it better than the Tréo's by adding boilerplates and some other things,
there is still a ways to go on that.
The big news this month is that I switched desks! I am now working in
the back room with the rest of the engineers where Ty used to sit. It's
nice and quiet back here.

Trev's Anime

This was the first month that Robert Loo and I worked on the No-Name
(http://www.nnanime.com/) monthly newsletter, and it turned out great!
We used CorelDraw 9 (http://www.coreldraw.com/) which is pretty easy
once you get the hang of it.
As for Fanime (http://www.fanime.com), I am finally getting submissions
for panels (sent to panels at fanime.com) for the convention, so things
are shaping up quite nicely. It looks like we will have a full con this
year and I am looking forward to running it.
On "what I'm watching," No-Name started playing _Crest of the Stars_
(http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Shrine/4777/Seikai/seikai.html) and
_Noir_ (uk-anime.net/reviews/imports/noir.html), both of
which I find very cool.
Warner just let me barrow a DVD Video Game he bought in Japan called
_Phantom of Inferno_ (digiturbo.co.jp/phantom_dvd/dvd.html)
which is pretty interesting. I have also (I am ashamed to say) started
watching, and actually enjoying, _Initial D_
(geocities.com/initial_d2k/index.html), please do not shun
me. ^_^
Oh, and it's not anime, but I recently watched the new B5 movie, and I
really liked it, I hope they go through with a new series.

Trev's Manga

Well, I have this here for a couple reasons. First of all to say the
_Azumanga Daioh_ by Azuma Kiyohiko is a very cool manga. Even Signe
liked it, so if you get a chance check it out.
I also found a really cool manga store online,
mangasource.com/, they have great prices! The way I found
them is that I was searching for _Hikaru no Go_
(http://www.toriyamaworld.com/hikago/) stuff and on this page there was
an ad for the store.
Why was O searching for _Hikaru no Go_? Well...

Trev's Games

I have always been fascinated by the game of Go
(http://playgo.to/interactive/index.html) ever since college. So I have
started to get into playing it online. I really suck right now, but I
am getting a little better. I really want to find some people (in real
life) to play with, but none of my friends here play go, they all play
chess, so I am looking into local clubs like the Sunnyvale Go Club
(http://www.sunnyvalegoclub.org/). I hope things pan out, it is really
fun to sit and play.
As for other games, well I have started playing a "play by email"
(http://www.pbem.com/) RPG that my buddy Chris Danz has started up in
Washington. It is very interesting, although it takes weeks to do what
you are (in game time) doing in hours, but I totally love it.

Well, that's about it for this edition of the Trev Report. I hope you
are all doing well and see you next month, if not sooner!
