We studied cryptology in my favorite 9^th grade elective English class today. I made a scytale to show the kids. A scytale is a simple encrpytion system. You take a strip of paper and wrap it around a stick, then you write a message on the paper. Someone with the same type of stick as you can rewind the paper around their stick and decipher the message, but if you don't have the stick the message makes no sense. Pretty cool, huh?

今日の好きな3年生選択英語B授業で暗号学について勉強しました。僕はスカイテールを作って紹介しました。スカイテールは簡単な暗号方法です。細長い紙切れを棒で巻いて、紙切れでメッセージを書きます。同じような棒がある人は紙切れの暗号メッセージが読めるが、棒を使ってないでメッセージは意味が分かれません。面白いでしょうね。
