Today in my always interesting 9^th grade elective English class we talked about Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visit to the war-related Yasukuni Shrine yesterday. His visit to the shrine has upset both China and South Korea because Yasukuni Shrine is dedicated to the war dead including 14 Class-A war criminals. I read in a newspaper today that about half of Japanese polled think that his going to the shrine was a bad idea, but most Japanese don't really care one way or another.

今日のいつも面白い３年生選択英語B授業で昨日の小泉さんは戦争に関連する靖国神社を参拝することについて話していました。中国と韓国は小泉さんは靖国神社を参拝するのがとても怒られます。なぜなら、靖国神社で14人A級戦犯を含む戦没者を祭るからです。約半分の日本人は小泉さんは靖国神社を参拝することが悪いと思うが、たいていのは関係ないと思うと新聞で読みました。
